Joshua Tree National Park

Join us for a week of general trail maintenance (brushing, drain clearing, and trail delineation) along the California Riding and Hiking Trail within Joshua Tree National Park. The trail is beautiful and diverse; showcasing both monzogranite and gneiss, a section of basalt, Joshua tree stands, and expansive mountain views. A 4WD vehicle with high clearance is preferred, although carpooling to/from the job site is possible.

Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge

Our service project will be removing old interior barbed-wire fences leftover from ranching days in cooperation with volunteers from Friends of Buenos Aires NWR. The fence removal is part of an ongoing 15-year project by the Refuge to remove interior fences; only ~18 miles of the fence remains down from over 150 miles of fence that originally existed.

Join us in northern Florida for a week of various projects at Osceola National Forest. This is our first project with this National Forest and we’re excited to spend the week tackling a wide variety of projects including board replacement on a retaining wall, installation of a metal swing set, repainting the exterior of two bathhouses, installation of recreation, multi-use, and road closure signs, wood fence segment replacement in the Olustee Beach Day Use Area.

Spend a week in southern California’s San Bernardino National Forest working on a wildlife habitat restoration on damaged lands. Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge

Our service project will be installing a secure metal mesh top for the refuge’s quail flight pens. The secure metal mesh top prevents quails from escaping and from predators entering. We will also be working to re-align 3 miles of wildlife-friendly fence that was incorrectly installed in 2019 in hopes of accomplishing this task before 25 new pronghorns are brought onto the refuge this winter.
