Join us for a week of continued watering support for replanted Joshua trees within the Dome Fire burn area (2021). This area is modeled by scientists as a climate refuge for the species. We will also work to remove cages from inside the Wilderness boundary. Planting sites are varying distances from roads. Some are within 100 feet of a road and others are 3+ miles. Volunteers will be able to choose their own level of strenuousness during the project. They will be required to carry water bags weighing approximately 20 lbs or they can strictly be dedicated to removing chicken wire cages and rebar.
We will base camp out of Valley View Ranch which is accessible by standard clearance, 2WD vehicles. For sites requiring 4WD, NPS can shuttle up to 10 people.
