This unique and challenging project will focus on improving the condition of the portage trails, taking place in the northeast section of the Sioux Hustler hiking trail.
Service Project Details
This unique and challenging project will focus on improving the condition of the portage trails, taking place in the northeast section of the Sioux Hustler hiking trail. Work will include removing small trees from trails with hand saws and loppers, removing larger trees with a crosscut saw.
Volunteers for this project must have experience canoeing, experience portaging (2-person), and must be fit to paddle fair distances, and complete trail work and crosscut work.

Itinerary:
Saturday, September 3rd. The volunteer group meets at midday at a time/place TBD. The group will go through check-in, introductions, orientation, and will caravan to a camp for the night.
Sunday, September 4th. The volunteer group will help transport gear to the portage staging area and will begin the paddling journey to basecamp. The group will then assist in setting it up for a great work week ahead
Monday, September 5th. Workday.
Tuesday, September 6th. Workday.
Wednesday, September 7th. Day off.
Thursday, September 8th. Workday.
Friday, September 9th. Workday.
Saturday, September 10th. Break down camp, paddle back, good-byes, depart.
