Location: Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, AZ
Strenuous. Up to 2-mile one-way hikes carrying/lifting fencing materials
Front country: tent camping near cars.
Our service project will be installing a secure metal mesh top for the refuge’s quail flight pens. The secure metal mesh top prevents quails from escaping and from predators entering. We will also be working to re-align 3 miles of wildlife-friendly fence that was incorrectly installed in 2019 in hopes of accomplishing this task before 25 new pronghorns are brought onto the refuge this winter.
