Service Project Details
See the beauty of Limestone Mountain in Wyoming’s Shoshone National Forest and give back! Join our project working on the North Country Trail, a new trail construction that provides access to the newly developed climbing area at Wild Iris. Work will consist of hand-built new trail construction, as well as hand finishing machine built rough tread. Expect to cut backslope, install tread hinge, smooth tread surface, improve drainage features, spread downslope spoils, remove roots. This project may entail rockwork to build steps, checks, and cairns.
Volunteers will need to be able to hike 2-miles daily with 100′ change and we’ll be tent camping near cars at the Aspen Glade Dispersed camp area.
This is a high elevation project: 6,200+ ft. Volunteers should arrive in the area a few days before the project to allow for acclimation.
Project Leaders: Steve Breitbach and Jeremy Haug
