Service Project Details
Spend a week in the popular Lakes Basin Management Area in the Eagle Cap Wilderness completing a wide variety of projects including removing and naturalizing illegal campfire rings, installing signage and barriers to prevent camping in illegal sites, trail maintenance such as cutting fallen trees from the trail or cutting back brush from the trail, maintaining or installing drainage structures such as water bars or check dams, and more.
Volunteers must be able to hike up to 7 miles per day with a day pack and tools (~30 lbs), must be able to camp and work out of a primitive backcountry campsite, must be able to kneel, crouch, bend over, and stand/walk on uneven or sloped terrain as needed to perform work tasks.

Itinerary:
Saturday, August 23rd- The Volunteer group meets at midday at a time/place TBD. The group will go through check-in, introductions, orientation, and will help stage gear if necessary for the packers.
Sunday, August 24th. The group will wrap up with the pack team and begin their backpack into basecamp. All volunteers will help set up camp in preparation for the work week ahead.
Monday, August 25th. Workday.
Tuesday, August 26th. Workday.
Wednesday, August 27th. Day off.
Thursday, August 28th. Workday.
Friday, August 29th. Workday.
Saturday, August 30th. Break down camp, backpack out, goodbyes, and depart.
