Join us for a week working on the Indian Crossing trail in the Eagle Cap Wilderness completing a wide variety of trail maintenance projects!
Service Project Details
Departing from Indian Crossing Trailhead, we’ll hike along the Imnaha Wild and Scenic River and into the Eagle Cap Wilderness, catching views of the High Wallowas along the way. Pack stock will carry all food and group gear, giving us time for a 7-mile hike into base camp near the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Imnaha.
Work will include:
- Constructing drainage features such as water bars to prevent trail erosion
- Installing check dams to reclaim portions of the incised tread
- Cutting back heavy brush along the trail
- Improving a section of trail that has been affected by beaver activity
Project Leaders: Ross Holloway and Tom Driscoll
