This is a new project! Help rebuild/restore a pollinator garden at the base of the Scott Fire Tower that was devastated by the 2022 Bovee Fire.
Service Project Details
Join this new project to help rebuild and restore a pollinator garden at the base of the Scott Fire Tower. The pollinator garden was built in tiers up the side of the hill the fire tower sits on and was in partnership with Pheasants Forever. During the Bovee Fire of Oct. 2022, all but the metal frame of the fire tower was lost; the garden and the retaining wall suffered from fire and water damage. The mulch on the trail was burned and the trail has become overgrown.
This project would consist of replacing the old railroad tie retaining wall with block, replanting the garden, clearing debris from the trail, laying down erosion fabric on highly erodible portions of the trail, and finally mulching the trail.
