Spend the week working with the Denali National Park Trail Crew as continue our work on a new section of the Nenana River Trail!
Service Project Details
Spend the week working with the Denali National Park Trail Crew as we tackle the construction of new segments of the Nenana River Trail. We’ll put in four days of trail work, and then have a free day to explore the wonders of Denali. The agency will provide the group with free park bus passes to view wildlife in the interior of the park. Be sure to bring your camera and a good pair of binoculars.
We will be based out of the Admin Camp, which is a collection of huts (two bunks/beds per hut), two co-ed trailers (shower/bath house and a kitchen), a great porch, a fire ring, and a pavilion. We’ll be under a tenth of a mile away from the Riley Creek Mercantile which carries a variety of goodies and necessities.
Volunteers will need to be able to comfortably hike up to 4 miles daily.
A firm 60-day go/no-go will be in place for this project. Accepted volunteers will need to provide flight or travel information to project leaders between 50-59 days before the meeting date of the project to ensure commitment to the project.
Project Leaders: Steve Breitbach and Judy Anderson
